Have you ever wondered how to make the best use of the internet for researching your Jewish ancestors? Join us on August 30 to hear Barbara Rice, a volunteer with JewishGen Education, tor her talk, Navigating JewishGen: Behind the Search Screen. Barbara will discuss resources on the website, demonstrate how to access and interpret records found using JewishGen’s search engines and provide tips for navigating the many resources and communications tools the JewishGen website offers researchers.
Barbara Rice began genealogy research while preparing for her grandmother’s 100th birthday celebration in 2010. Classes with Phyllis Kramer and Nancy Holden of JewishGen Education taught her to analyze and transcribe documents for clues to ancestors in the old country. She has been digging into her family research and making new discoveries ever since.
