About The Event
Steve Heifetz is a cardiologist who was first drawn into his family history when his twins had their B’nai Mitzvah in 2002. In advance of the family gathering, he sought to identify the family connections behind his large family, realizing he knew little of his history. That launched a search that discovered both his family, the early Jewish community where his great-grandfather served as rabbi, and his Lithuanian roots. Some exciting and unexpected surprises awaited.
