About The Event
This presentation will be a webinar presented by the Czech Genealogical Society who has kindly extended an invitation to our members. Live remote access will also be available if unable to attend in person.
Author Joannie Holzer Schirm will discuss her father's diaries while he was in Shanghai in the 1930s and as a Jewish refugee from Shanghai in the late 1940s. Her related book is My Dear Boy.
And two local speakers: Eva Moreimi will speak about her book Hidden Recipes: A Holocaust Memoir which tells the story of the recipes her mother gathered in Auschwitz and her father's escape from forced labor.
Dr. Tina Scott Edstam will speak on Jewish/Christian relationships in her Czech family against the backdrop of the Holocaust (talk only available live at the event)
Those attending in person at the Minnesota Genealogical Society Building will hear all three speakers. Please register via the MNJGS website if attending the event in person.
Those who attend via webcast will hear Joannie Holzer Schirm and Eva Moreimi. Below are the two links to access the webcasts live. We ask that you register for these via these links.
