If you've ever wondered how forensic genealogy is used to solve crimes, on June 23rd, Jarrett Ross, a popular blogger on YouTube, who has worked as a forensic genealogist, will take us behind the scenes.
We are taking a break in our programming in August for the IAJGS conference in Philadelphia from Aug 18-22. If you've never been to a conference, come see what it is all about. The sessions are valuable and a good way to identify future speakers for MNJGS, but the fun begins in the informal gatherings over dinner with old friends and new. We'll be sure to pull a group together and include you if you decide to come.
Maybe you aren't ready for a roots trip because you are still trying to find your ancestral town. Then save September 15th for Risa Daitzman Heywood, one of our favorite speakers, as she helps us validate where family came from and under what name.
Have you ever studied an old photo trying to decipher the story within it? On November 17th we will have Ava Cohn, also known as Sherlock Cohn, the Photo Genealogist, join us to talk about the stories in the details. Join us to gain insight into how to make sense of those early family photos.
It's an exciting line-up. We also anticipate member-only working sessions on July 28th and December 15th and of course a Hanukkah party to follow our December 15th annual meeting. Stay tuned!

The 2024 conference has come to a close, but there are many recorded sessions which remain freely accessible here. Go to the top of the page and click on watch videos. You can search for specific topics by keywords. Make sure you have an account set up at Family Search. FamilySearch accounts are free of charge and provide access to many valuable records as well as the RootsTech videos..
Be sure to go to the IAJGS booth where you will find some short videos including excerpts from MNJGS talks that you may find of interest.
